TETRIS : The Movie
Tetris is highly entertaining movie based on the story of how Nintendo fought for the rights to Tetris starring Taron Egerton and Toby Jones. With filming taking place in Scotland amongst the tower blocks of Aberdeen the story is a genuinely fascinating one.
The main character is Dutch entrepreneur and video game designer Henk Rogers, played by Rocket Man star Taron Egerton, along with Toby Jones as Robert Stein as they begin to realise the game’s global potential. the film features many famous figures from Nintendo history, including former Nintendo of America chairman Howard Lincoln and Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi.
Due for release as an Apple TV+ exclusive on 31 March 2023.
More Information
Whilst the film depicts life in the dark and foreboding tower blocks of Cold War Russia the film set in Aberdeen made a great home-grown substitute for some of the scenes. Filmed with the Freefly Alta 8 and Alexa Mini camera system.
