‘Elen’… ‘The smile you send out comes back to you’. ‘Elen’ is a loving Welsh story of acceptance and friendship, from inside the mind of a young 10-year-old girl who suffers with Epilepsy and a vivid imagination. Being a Welsh speaking drone operator myself, this was a thoroughly enjoyable project to work on.

‘Elen’ was lovingly written and composed by Lisa Jên Brown, with director Andy Newbery and producer Alice Lusher. ‘Elen’ went on to receive official selection for TIFF Kids 2018, and was screened at Prix Jeunesse in May 2018.

The film was broadcast on the Welsh television channel S4C on 15th May 2018 as part of Epilepsy Awareness week, then again as part of the European Broadcast Union Children’s Drama Series 2018.

For ‘Elen’ we flew our Freefly Alta 8 drone equipped with our Movi gimbal and our Arri Alexa Mini camera and Zeiss CP2 prime lenses. This was an amazing combination and enabled us to capture some truly stunning shots for key areas of this feature film…
