On Set…

What an amazing time! We’ve had a superb few days filming on set with our Sony FS5 drone at various locations around Anglesey, here in North Wales. We found ourselves flying through doors, up stairwells, over water and at night obtaining stunning views of Treaddur Bay, Rhosneigr, the Menai Straits and Britannia Bridges, Snowdonia, Plas Newydd and Beaumaris to name a few.

The Drone…

Our FS5 drone is a lovely versatile drone, it takes approximately 15 minutes to unpack, setup and calibrate before we can perform the first flight of the day. It can then fly for up to 15 minutes or a little bit less if we’re using the remote FIZ (focus, iris and zoom) control. It then takes us around 5 minutes to turn it around before it can fly again. It’s ideal for a variety of shots ranging from fast action tracking shots, to slower climb outs and pull backs. It can even be flown indoors with ease! We normally run this drone as a dual operator, but we can also operate it as a triple operator with a third person controlling the FIZ. Either way, there are lots of options all leading to amazing shots.
