Dreigiau Cadi

Dreigiau Cadi, (Cadi’s Dragons) is a comedy series for Welsh children featuring the antics of two young energetic dragons and a wise, kind-hearted train driver.

Set in the heart of Wales and focused on the historic Talyllyn Steam Railway this a is highly amusing comedy series for S4C. Young train driver Cadi discovers a pair of dragons hiding on the railway and their inquisitive and mischievous behaviour takes us on a fun filled journey along the railway.

Over the course of the series Cadi shows the dragons, Bledd and Clef how the railway operates, with the pair getting into all kinds of scrapes and mishaps as they go. From runaway engines to jammed points, the two dragons learn the Do’s and Don’ts of the railway, often coming up with ingenious solutions to the events that arise using ways only dragons can.

How fitting it is that Talylln Railway, the inspiration for Rev Wilbert Awdry’s Thomas the Tank Engine, should be the setting for the programme. The new show is exciting and educational and uses those same steam engines to entertain, inform and educate children whilst introducing a whole new generation to the love of steam trains.
